Get Involved

Here at the Caen Hill Countryside Centre, we have many areas of the project which we can share with children, young people and community groups.

School Projects

Our countryside centre brings day to day, season by season life to share with those attending courses or volunteering.

For school children and young people we can support work for:
KS1 & KS2
KS3 & K4
NVQ courses
City and Guilds

Community Projects

Rural skills and crafts are being lost in todays world. In the countryside there are so many natural resources, and people who know how to use them.
Caenhill Countryside Centre will offer a variety of courses throughout the year. Why not come along and take part in some of our seasonal work.
Thatching
Apple Pressing
Harvesting
Landscape / countryside photography
Willow weaving

Perhaps you have a skill you would like to share with others. Can the countryside centre work with you to put on courses to help your rural skill?
Get in touch with us and see if we can Learn with Nature with you.

Volunteering

We have a great team of volunteers who have transformed the farm. We always welcome new volunteers who have  a passion for the countryside and helping young people learn about farming and the countryside. Volunteering can be for a few hours, a day and as regular as you wish one thing guaranteed you will be made very welcome and make new friends. We do not ask for commitment as we know your time is precious, if you have time maybe once a week, once a month, once a year the time you give will be rewarded knowing you will have made a difference.

Our countryside centre is a caring learning centre many has described as a healing farm. The calm of the countryside and animals makes it a a relaxing centre where we can all Learn with Nature.

While we undertake the work to return this to a fully functioning and sustainable working farm, we will need to take on some projects of clearing and preparation.

There are 10 areas you can help by volunteering.  Working with crops, repairing machinery, helping in the orchard, digging ponds, repairing buildings, caring for bees, developing the rescue animal area, building paths and maintaining hedges.

If you are interested pleased get in touch so we can arrange a visit.
