Our Areas

The project has ten main areas allowing our young people to learn skills and network. It also allow volunteers and supporters to get involved by helping, donating or foraging in so many ways.  We are keen to reuse / recycle and support from the local community has been great. We have had fencing, pallets, chicken house, paint and animal donated.

Here are our ten areas that you can get involved in.

  1. ANIMALS

    We have Pigs, sheep, cattle goats, hens,bantams, geese, turkeys, ducks, quails, peafowl, bees. All need animal care, feeding, water, cleaning and welfare. We are looking for donkeys


2. WORKSHOP

    We have an area we are developing where our young volunteers and can work on machinery. We have a tractor ,ring roller, cultivator and various tools.
We are looking for old farm machinery, tools, benches.

3.  RURAL CRAFT

    We are developing an area for rural craft and working with willow, clay, creative media, painting, charcoal.

4. RESCUE ANIMALS

   We have built and area where we can look after rescued animals and where possible release into the countryside or allow free range on the farm.
We have rescued caged hens, ducks, goats, sheep and one pig.

5. HERITAGE.
Museum, history of farming, old farming techniques.

6. CROPS

     Growing crops is important to help with animals feed and of course our young students who not only grow for the animals but for themselves. We are working on an areas to explain and show the crops that are grown on a farm.

7. BUILDING

    Our building programme is ongoing, building, painting, repairing.
We are always pleases to receive old building materials we can re use, we are looking for roofing sheets, blocks and wood.

8. FIELDS

We have 70acres to maintain and develop with 2 miles of hedges which need work on.

    The areas of work are Hedges, ditches, harvest, orchard, woodland, fencing, clearing ponds.

9.FORAGING

 Not everyone is able to volunteer at the farm so we have volunteers who lookout and do foraging for materials that can be recycled at the farm and given a new lease of life.
Our students enjoy the challenge of making use of the materials that can be given a second life.

     We are all on the out look for building materials, feed. plants

10. FUNDRAISING

    Raising funds for the animals, students and project is important and great fun.  We make funds by selling photos, produce to local shops, auctions and events at local venues and markets.
