Casey back with his Grampy at the farm

It's been quite a week but one of the highlights for me has been the visit from Lola. She came to the farm on Tuesday to celebrate her 100th Birthday and fulfill her wish of holding a chick. We were of course more than happy to help and Chris added a few extra surprises along the way as he does. I really hope Lola had a day to remember, she is an incredible lady who we were honoured to share such a special day with. It's certainly not every day we get to celebrate a 100th Birthday in person, although we've been privileged enough to do a couple of shoutouts.

While Lola was having her first visit at 100 years old, my little Dexter had his first visit to the farm at just five weeks old this week. It was a little more difficult to take photos with a baby and a three-year-old to look after, but I still gave it a try and it felt so good to have a camera in hand again. While I had a nice time and Dexter wasn't really sure what was going on, he just heard familiar noises from watching rush-hour live with me, Casey had the best time ever. He was back with Carrot the Gosling again, was excited to see how much Taz and Wiggle have grown and really happy to get stuck into some farm work again. It was certainly amazing to be back, but don't tell Chris because he might think I missed him a bit.

That wasn't all for Chris with farm visitors this week. We had Youth Action Wiltshire join us for a day of farm work with a group of young people working towards future employment as part of their Project Inspire. The group, led by our very own Claire on the day, worked really hard on creating a new goat pen, they should all be really proud of themselves. Plus we had a few returning visitors, a great catchup with some local councillors, our Dotty Clubs kids back and a few new volunteers for Friday evenings. Thank you to all of our visitors this week for their enthusiasm and kindness.

There's another visit I still need to talk about too which was our local radio station, BBC Radio Wiltshire. They joined us on Friday for their sport broadcast of all things. No, we're not going to be creating the animal Olympics as entertaining as that would be. They joined us to talk about the Euro 2020 competition and asked our lovely Bumblebee the sheep to help predict the winner of the England matches. I'm really hoping Bumblebee gets all of the results right, because how amazing would that be. She's only predicted one game so far and that's for England vs Croatia which is on later today. Bumblebee says England is going to win and I know a lot of people who are hoping she is correct. Keep a look out for the next predictions on BBC Radio Wiltshire's social media.

Although that's not really all of the visitors this week because there's one person I haven't mentioned and that's Caroline. Yes, our local French artist is back at the farm doing some work with Chris and it's been great to see her on our videos again, we still need to catch up in person. As you'd expect, it didn't take long for usual craziness to return, there's now a whole list of new ideas from Chris and Caroline and to make sure it wasn't all just work, they fitted in a water fight too. All being well, and work commitments allowing, Caroline will be back a little more helping with more of Bumblebee's predictions, joining some tours and working on some of the many ideas she and Chris have. For now though, she's added to her S'arturday live features with an illustration of Duran, I love the end result.

Don't worry, with so much going on we haven't forgotten about our animals and this week we've had Dilly our duck's first rush hour and Mr Honk still joining in from time to time. Giggle our goose is still sitting on eggs, we're unsure if anything is going to hatch so, for now it's a waiting game. All while our peahens are laying eggs but no signs of any of them going broody just yet.

We have a few newcomers to the farm as well, that's right, more animals needing our care. As sad as it is to take animals in with nowhere else to go, we do what we can when we can. This week we were lucky enough to be able to take in the peacock that had been roaming in the area. He's been seen on some fast roads so we're looking after him for his own safety and waiting to see if any owners come forward. While he's with us he's being called Emerald, I'm sure you've seen a few videos with him. While in other news we have a new cat which I'm really excited about. We do already have a fantastic cat population who we aren't looking to add to but we were asked to take on another who was unable to stay in his home and had already been to the vets, so last weekend we welcomed Jazz. He's still quite nervous, but is super affectionate so I'm sure you'll see more of him once he's settled.

That's the key news for now so I'll leave you with a thank you and this week I'd like to say thank you to Loren. Despite being across in New York, she's offered her expertise to support our project. She's created some amazing merchandise and has been helping create signs for around the farm and we're so grateful to have her on board. Hopefully one day I'll visit you in New York Loren.

Until next time keep safe.
