What a week it's been at the farm this week, I feel like I need to lie down. There's no time for rest though, especially with the CaenhillCC photo calendar created by myself, Chris and Casey almost complete. We've had a few last minute photo switches, a few things we still wanted to capture, but we're almost ready to share it with you. I just hope it looks as good as Caroline's calendar which I'm so excited to have my own copy of, especially with the extra special picture for my birth month.
That's not the biggest news from the farm this week though, I don't think anything could compete with our new arrival. We now have a dog.
Though Oreo the collie dog is very much loved by his previous owners, circumstances have meant they needed to find him a new home where he could still work and be around animals. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for Oreo's family to see him leave, especially as he's such a kind and loving dog. We'll be keeping his family updated on how he settles into the CaenhillCC team, along with you all, and hopefully give Oreo another happy chapter in his life. I'm sure Oreo will be a regular in all of our videos in time and will hopefully be helping at the rush hour, but for now we're letting him get used to our animals, and letting our animals get used to him as well.
Talking about rush hour, it's been an exciting week at the rush hour door. We've had Trigger the pig, Daisy the cow and Chris and Alison the Urban Tango Nights dancers all making an appearance, and only one of those was planned. Definitely look out for Daisy and Trigger surprising Chris earlier this week.
Of course, Chris and Alison were our planned appearance, and a big thank you to them for sharing their dancing with us this week. They've had a short break in the area cycling and dancing which they managed to tie in with a tour of the farm. We couldn't let them go without giving Chris and Caroline a live tango lesson yesterday, it's the first tango lesson I've seen with emus and sheep spectating. It was fun to be there to watch and fantastic to catch-up with Caroline at the farm at the same time and have the whole team back together again. Don't worry, you don't need to dance to join us at the farm as well, though you're welcome to give it a go, just head over to our form to book yourself in or get in touch and we'll have visitors as and when it's safe to do so. If you can't visit we can still arrange an extra special shout out for you for any occasion/reason as well.
We do need to keep a close eye on government guidance when it comes to having people at the farm, but we will still host socially distanced tours when we can, have volunteers in when required and have a limited number of students in. There's so much to do that we can't completely close our gates, but everyone's safety is just as much of a priority as our animal care.

There's been so much going on this week that I'm sure I've missed something but for now I'll finish on a thank you and this week I want to say a big thank you to Sarah in Chippenham. She really kindly donated some items collected by her dad which he kept in amazing condition, we can't thank her enough for thinking of us. We hope to see you back at the farm soon Sarah.
